Accessibility

Purple Otter Cleaning wants everyone to be able to learn about our services, get a quote, and book a clean, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across this site.

What we do

• Every page has a “Skip to main content” link, a clear heading structure, and labelled landmarks.
• All controls work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
• Text and buttons meet the AA contrast ratio against their backgrounds.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Forms have visible labels, clear error messages, and no time limits.
• Animations are turned off for visitors who have “reduce motion” enabled in their system settings.
• We test with automated tools (axe and Lighthouse) and by hand with keyboard navigation before changes go live.

Known limitations

• Online booking runs inside a third-party scheduling tool (BookingKoala) embedded on our booking page. We do not control its code. If any part of it is hard to use, email us and we will book you by hand at the same price.
• Blog and gallery photos are added over time and may occasionally be missing a good text description. We review these regularly.
